October 27, 2023 - Northern Rhone Dinner (2012/2005/1998 focus) (Chez Lagragne): Single blind. Nicely floral aromatics with olive and a unique grapefruit pith. Texturally approachable and seamless, but the nuances are minimal with some light olive notes. Needs a decade. My #2/5. Thought this was the Gonon due to its relative approachability.

October 27, 2023 - (Mostly) 1998, 2005, 2012 Northern Rhône (Chicago, IL): Served single blind. Of the flight, I found this the lightest in style, with a relatively lightweight palate and maybe just a smidgen of the red fruit and pepper on the nose. Not too much tannin on the back end either. I was pretty convinced that this was the Gonon.

April 10, 2022 - Consistent with previous notes, great Cote Rotie!

November 6, 2021 - Just as good as a year ago; if anything the olive tapenade is getting a little leathery. Will open the next and last in a couple years

November 27, 2020 - Wow. Perfumed like a great burgundy, rose petals and all. Very light hue for a syrah, could blind for a pinot. Palate is not as complex or deep as the nose, and length is ordinary
Otherwise could be a nearly perfect CR on the feminine side.
