Community Tasting Notes 3

November 16, 2008 - From memory: classic cab flavors - dark fruits and hints of green pepper. Not bad but not memorable either.

October 12, 2008 - 14.5% alc...the nose is rocking straight out of the bottle, vanilla, dusty, black currants, cocoa and a dash of liquid smoke...the palate is dense, full-bodied, velvety, still a rather large amount of fine tannin remains - perhaps a bit too sappy and lacking acidity for me at this point in my life, a lot of purple notes...if you told me this was 100% Shiraz I wouldn't argue - the Shiraz dominates the blend at this stage of its life...wanted something to just enjoy without food, this is it. I need to deplete my cellar of a majority of my Shiraz, just doesn't do it for me anymore.

January 14, 2007 - Interesting result...this wine in the past - 6+ months ago was very obtainable...tonight not so much - perhaps shutdown or needs more time...ont he nose relatively little is happening, black pepper, some riper fruit, though it seems a little more tobacco like in a Cab vein...on the palate, the wine is fairly tannic, thought the texture that has always been still appears with a little voluptuous type thing going on, long finish, but IMO this wine has shed its baby fat and is heading elsewhere. Will be patient with my remaining bottle.
