January 21, 2024 - Tasted blind from the cellar. Instantly knew it was not only Brunello but very good Brunello. Thought it was the 2010 Mastrojanni Vigna Loreto but no, Fuligni. Similar in style though. Outstanding bottle of wine this. So beautifully balanced and the fruit is an intoxicating deep cherry laden bag of deliciousness. I’ve tried a few single vineyard and Riservas over the years but this straight lightly aged Brunello beats the lot. Has another level in it too..

January 5, 2024 - A fantastic Brunello that was quickly decanted and followed over the course of 3 hours. Initially a lot of caramelized soy sauce, raspberries, ash / embers (more of a smokiness) almost powdery scent of earth, and very faint leather, cocoa powder / dark chocolate, and a hint of coffee. With more time and aeration, cherries came out with a little sweet fruit that did not last. Very elegant acidity and extremely classy and old school feel. The wine would evolve for a little bit more over time once more wine was poured into the glass for the duration of the meal, and then regress back to be more dominant in earthiness / soy sauce. The raspberries would evolve to more cherry focused. The evolution is fascinating, although inconsistent. In terms of food pairing, absolutely decadent with roasted quail and venison (on the seared / rare side) with a reduced sauce, and the wine would become more elegant tart with food (the stronger elements of the wine thus mellowing with food). It seems quite a few Brunello 2010s are headed in this direction in terms of profile, but they are unique in their composition of flavors and evolution depending on the producer and how the bottle turns out with time and age. I prefer more consistent fruit, but have no reason otherwise to doubt the higher scores granted by other fellow CT reviewers for this bottle and vintage.

December 24, 2023 - Just great; one of my favorite BdM. A bit of sour, raspberry and tartness, but it’s just the right amount. Aromas are amazing — patience between sips is rewarded.

What are the rest of y’all drinking? This is kicking the butts of a lot of pricier bottles.

December 10, 2023 - Very light and balanced. Less concentrated than the 2006 I had recently. Enjoyable.

November 19, 2023 - Three hour slo-ox. Cherry, plum, underbrush. Delicious and absolutely no rush to drink
