April 24, 2021 - I noticed that this bottle was leaking so popped the cork and assumed the worst. I'll be damned, the wine was still excellent! Great nose full of red fruit and some spice, with much of the same on the palate along with some leather and bitter citrus/orange peel. Plenty of acidity has kept this nice and fresh although I feel as though this wine is smack-dab in the zone right now and should be drank within the next few years for optimal enjoyment. Granted this wasn't a perfect bottle so take those timelines with a grain of salt. Nice work as always @ownrooted ! Side note....my bottle is labeled 'Sonoma County'...but the only 2012 Carignane on Cellar Tracker is Contra Costa?? Picture added

October 24, 2020 - The wine has a black core and red-purple edges. Cherry cola, potting soil, and fresh green fennel fronds on the nose. The palate is zippy, with crushed dark stones and firm black cherry. Structure boasts medium tannin and medium-plus acidity. Not too exciting when first opened, but given two hours in a decanter, it improved immensely. I'd say this is at peak drinking right now. I'd give it 1-2 more years before you've definitely held it too long.

    May 31, 2019 - 三天,60度喝。没啥特殊,略带青味的重葡萄品种。最后一天最好,又有几分钟,香气突出。

May 27, 2019 - Sonoma County. Definitely a balsamic/meat/umami quality up front, dark fruit and earth/herbs underneath. Integrated medium tannins/acid, drink through 2020.

September 22, 2018 - Really enjoyed this. Almost Pinot-like in that it is a lighter style wine. Wish I had more.
