February 17, 2024 - It is in its prime. Blackberry and a hint of dried fruit it seems it will lean into with any more age. I can't imagine it will get better so I am glad I opened it now.
The wine looks inky colored. It smells like prune and blackberry. It tastes like blackberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

November 7, 2022 - Starting to show some tertiary notes of leather and stewed fruit, but also ripe blackberry pie. There is still a vibrancy to the wine, with acid and body that provide plenty of structure. A 'big' wine without being over the top.

September 23, 2022 - Nose of stewed and dried cherries, plums, dried blackberries, cocoa, baking spices, earth, and a hint of iodine. Some raisin and prune notes are lurking in the background. Full bodied, a bit thick, medium acidity, and at the right level of maturity for me. The fruit palate is starting to dry out and matches the nose and adds in a mix of black pepper and a bit of capsaicin. Ample and plush tannins bring in an earth, graphite, and iron. Medium long finish of dark cocoa, mild licorice, dark cherries, blueberries, and dusty tannins. After the finish fades, the mouth is a bit dusty.

It's a big, fruity, and bold Easton Zin with just the right age to be interesting. Probably could go longer but this is the exact point that I seem to like on them. Can easily stand in for a Cab or Syrah in a meal.

July 24, 2016 - A good Zin, not great, but good. I think a little overpriced for the value.

July 5, 2015 - For a Zin, it was pretty good. Wasn't too sweet, didn't taste like a port. But, 15.1%, ugh. Wasn't "hot" tho, I didn't really notice the alcohol.
