December 16, 2023 - Splash decanted. Black cherry on the nose. Dark fruit also. Taste similar with heavy tannins. Needed more time in decanter perhaps as didnt seem to open fully. No rush here would wait longer

September 18, 2023 - Decanted and back into the bottle two hours before. Slightly opaque burgundy with a rust-tinged rim. Dark floral notes, pipe tobacco, and black tea leaves are dominant, with cherry, pencil shavings, leather, and dusty earth. Fantastic balance. Oak is structured, but very well integrated, and tannins are velvety smooth. Better in ten years? Probably. But this is a beautiful bottle now.

July 16, 2023 - bordeaux like to me - higher acidity, more elegant than powerful, def not monolithic, some funk and earthy notes with the red fruit. very enjoyable but surprised that this is only 11 years old as it tastes older and I am not sure this gets better with age.
