April 1, 2021 - Good but not great. Not sure if expectations were too high benchmarking it to a '76 Tondonia Gran Reserva I had a year before which was unbelievably fantastic.

Decaying fruit and a little dry forest floor with a little stewed characteristics. Maybe damaged?

I've got 2 more from the same auction lot so fingers crossed the others are better!

July 10, 2020 - Interesting comparison from the 1966 we had last night. This has more structure and depth. Orange peel, tobacco, faint red fruit, light sweetness and earth. Drier than the 1966. Better and will last longer.

December 10, 2019 - From Kaia cellar. Wow this was good. Unbelievable color and freshness. Mostly floral aromatics, nothing earthy or rustic. Palate was sweet and fine.

    November 3, 2019 - Deep brick color.

Overwhelming aroma makes me weak at the knees. Late autumn foliage, aloe, eucalyptus, pumpkin, potato skins. Evaporation alcohols, armagnac, aged grappa. Sultry, spicy, sexy (sorry).

Taste is very controlled. Almost young. No apparent oxidation, though a touch of very mild acetic acid is present. Blackberry, cherry pie, tannic, with a subtle, pleasant burn. Old leather; tart apple.

    Incredible.

April 10, 2018 - Smoky, leather, faint red fruit, perfectly ready to drink and probably time. I expect it will hold, but why wait?
