    June 7, 2023 - We stayed alongside one of the Merus vineyards in a short-term rental apartment. it was a very small plot that created a lovely atmosphere with the patio. Tasting;
    Opened on our 26th Anniversary. Decanted for sediment. was really nice. multiple layers of cherry, oak, tobacco, leather. Was spectacular with a ribeye, but would be great to just enjoy on all its own merit, as well.

    November 19, 2022 - 90 min double decant. Very deep dark ruby magenta color. Apple peel, dandelion, charred boysenberry, licorice, and baking spice on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

    Brought to dinner at HowellMountainCru’s home by Mark1NPT. Great lineup of wines (Carter, Accendo, Shibumi Knoll, Cakebread VHR,…).

    November 19, 2022 - The final bottle of Merus in my cellar. It did not disappoint me. Decanted 80 minutes then back in bottle then cork out for another 4 hours. This one definitely improves with more air. There's more than one very savory component to this wine, with time. The tannins are fairly well integrated. It develops significant depth to the dark fruit, with multiple layers. One of the more complex wines tonight and to me that's a point or 2 more in the scoring than the others. Small glass left in bottle under cork to try tomorrow.

    August 22, 2022 - A touch boozy but otherwise quite enjoyable. Good fruit
