August 25, 2015 - Medium ruby color, starting to lighten.
Medium+ aroma and palate intensity of cherry, plum, complex and pleasing sandalwood, leather, and forest floor. Dry with medium acidity, medium+ firm tannin and body with medium+ alcohol. R is has a long and pleasant finish. Great now but it's only to me got another 4-7 years max left. Ready to drink now, further aging and decant are not necessary.

April 20, 2014 - A well balanced, full bodied, integrated example of Beautiful Rioja! The tannins are smoothed out, but still firm enough to give the juice a full mouthfeel of young vibrant fruits that accompany a finish of tar with a hint of currants. I was skeptical after reading other reviews, but I will buy this bottle again!

April 4, 2012 - Extremely nice wine, particularly fresh tasting due to a prominent acidity slicing through its rich, lush texture. Classic tempranillo flavor profile, creamy mouthfeel gives way to acidity on finish.

January 13, 2012 - Cata - Riojas U$50 (Depa de Marta Milans): Too intense. Very modern in style. Does not remind me of Rioja. [Gonzalo]

March 18, 2009 - NYC Third Wed - 2001 Rioja Dinner (Il Corso, NYC): Nothing offensive here, nothing to complain about, just okay. Perhaps a little astringent on the medium to long finish.
