December 29, 2023 - Always a pleasure to return to Guigal’s solo Syrah Hermitage, quite easily attainable, good QPR. Farmed from 30+ year old vines, aged for 36 months in oak barrels, 50% new. Deep garnet. Intense fragrant aroma of earth, leather, roses, violets, strawberries, incense, plums, cherries, delicate tobacco hints. Medium+ body, elegant and lively, medium density, rich flavours of plumy and spiced chocolate, floral notes, high acidity, medium+ chalky fine tannins, saline touches, long persistent earthy and floral finish.

October 13, 2022 - Excellent. Drinks very well now but still have some acidity. I'll try another bottle in 2 years from now I think.

May 4, 2019 - Just an absolutely nicely balanced and expressive wine. Classic herbs, vanilla, dark fruits and leather. Smooth and long, silky and seductive. More than nice with lamb rack!
