August 25, 2018 - Typical for variety, rose petals, earth, licorise, medicine in the nose and add to that a salty element in the taste. Much tannin. Devoloping much over 4 hours this is still young, i would give it at least three years to smooth out the tannin and see what else happens. 89 but only this low because of the still very austere tannin. Long decant recommended. At least 3 hours. Which in itself says somehing about the further potential this wine has. 89-92

October 22, 2015 - Tasting at Paitin (Neive, Barbaresco, Italy): Full nose has black cherry, licorice and herb but is undelineated today. Medium weight. Red fruit and tar notes. Gritty tannins are overpowering the fruit right now. Will the fruit come back with time?
