December 24, 2020 - Pretty much orange in colour, but the wine, although stately, remains perfectly vivacious. Nuts, cream, mint, nutmeg and some undergrowth on the nose. Palate has walnut, bitter almond, green apple, buttered popcorn and a decent amount of grip - lovely balance and complexity. The finish lingers for minutes, with waves of butteriness. Mmm...

October 10, 2020 - This wine had a deep yellow center that went clear just at the rim. The medium+ intensity nose offered up petrol, almond paste, vanilla, honey, and white stone.

In the mouth, this wine had great weight with huge richness that buried the firm acidity. It had great length.

This bottle was incredibly instructive relative to my last note 10 years ago. At that time, I noted that it tasted young but I did not realize then how much this wine would blossom with age and aeration.

At peak and outstanding for a Premier Cru! (from the old label with the vine leaf)

October 23, 2010 - From a nice looking bottle this wine had a bright, medium yellow center. The medium+ intensity nose was a bit Chablis like showing green apple, oyster shell, and some almond paste. In the mouth the wine was medium bodied with excellent acidity and length. While not wildly complex, the flavors echoed the nose and still tasted rather young. While it was good right away, it was best after 2 hours of air. All of this suggests this wine should easily last 5+ more years. A great showing for a 21 year old Premier Cru!
