February 24, 2024 - In decline, which is no surprise given the vintage and age. However, it has held up much better than I expected. Medium Mahogany red color. Mature tobacco bouquet. Only modest fruit left with primarily herbal characteristics. Definitely for those who prefer a very mature style of Bordeaux.
This is the second wine of Chateau Pichon Lalande.

December 6, 2019 - Ooops. Forgot this in the cellar after moving. Well aware it is too late to drink.

The nose says it is still alive with traditional notes of pencil, cured meats, black currant etc.
Slightly disappointing taste certainly beyond its peak. Black currant, raspberry, pencil, fungus, cellar and more but it feels like there is something missing. Like there is a big hole in the middle somewhere.

    Still an interesting experience.

November 22, 2012 - Decanted and served. Clear blood-ruby-garnet color. Nice Left Bank bouquet of tobacco, red fruit, meat juice, vegetables and exposed mud flats. Not quite as nice on the palate, with the savory character crowding out the fruit. Medium body with medium finish.
