  April 10, 2024 - PNP. At first very tertiary and tired, it developed nicely with some air and the last sips were the best. Notes of leather and black fruit.

  January 19, 2023 - Good wine for its age. Black fruit, leather, some baking spice on nose with more black fruit on palate with leather and hints of oak. Medium acidity still with slightest hint of tannin on the finish. Could go another year but probably peaked 5 years ago.

  December 2, 2021 - Last bottle of this venerable favorite, and it was by far the best bottle of them all. While I was not really expecting much due to its age, I was pleasantly surprised by the youthfulness of this wine, despite an alarming looking cork. Meaty nose, with a whiff of horse, but evolving into olive and cinnamon. Full of flavor, broad on the palate with good density, spicy tannins, and near perfect acidity. Terrific presence, with constant notes of grilled meat, just full of life and not remotely over the hill. Fantastic drinking, and I feel lucky to have lucked upon such a great bottle.

  January 2, 2021 - Délicieux! Avait encore de la place pour quelques années. Fruit noir, cuir, sous-bois et même un petit côté viandeux. Très juteux, bref un délice

  February 10, 2020 - Very nice aged wine. Brick red, fully resolved tannins, forest floor notes forward. Long finish of black fruits. Beautiful aged wine, very enjoyable. All there, not over the top. Loved it.
