December 12, 2021 - One of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the Okanagan Valley. The fruit comes from the amazing U2 vineyard and as always the wine is super structured and full of black fruit aromas. It always requires 10-12 years to become "accessible". Entering a long drinking window right now. High acidity and long finish. Decant for several hours if you want to maximize your tasting experience.

October 8, 2020 - Very serious cabernet, with lots a fruits and tannins...still very very young and still needs 3-5 years to smooth out the tannic structure and become more complex. The wine is very dark and deep and has all the qualities to age for a long time...always amazed by its aging potential. Based on my experience with the 2010, 2011 and 2012, La Sophia requires at least 10 years to reach it's sweet spot. My guess is that it will be at its best at 15 years of age. Cellar for 3-5 years and enjoy a world class cab, that I'd love to compare in a blind tasting to the best Bordeaux, Bolgheri or Washington cabs...maybe even some of Napa's Mountain Cabs (e.g. Howell Mountain). Great QPR even at the current price.

July 13, 2019 - Notes of black fruit, spice, moss and tobacco. Elegant wine with a pleasant, spicy long finish. Drinking well now, and will still improve with time.

August 11, 2018 - A really sad case of 'grabbed the wrong bottle'--we had guests, it was late.... Serious density, fruit and tannins, the type of 1st growth aspirations (for BC, at any rate). Realized the mistake as soon as I pulled the cork and set it aside, then tasted it on days 2, 4 and 7. Massive blackberry fruit, woodsy spice, hints of graphite and very, very concentrated. It's a great wine with a long future ahead--the tannins, fruit and acidity needed for the long haul are all there in perfect balance--it just needs a lot more time.
