April 2, 2021 - Prior bottle was 11 months ago and my notes were virtually identical. Nose shows black cherry, blackberry and mineral notes. Medium bodied with a combination of rounded black cherry and slightly brighter blackberry both upfront and through the middle. Mid-body shows good depth and balance. Tart black cherry on the backside along with fine grained tannins and some contrasting acidity that lasts through the mineral accented finish. Drink over the next two years as balance is at peak and I don't see it gaining complexity with more time. Balanced, blackfruit dominant profile made for a very good showing for my final bottle.

January 30, 2021 - Exactly what one would expect from an exemplary vintage and vineyard at a mature life span. Drink now.

September 14, 2020 - The first thing I really liked was the aroma. It smells fruity in an elegant way. The wine is smooth and tasty with a little tartness and acidity but it helps prevent the wine from being sweet. Overall a very good Pinot and I think if you are a Cab drinker like me you will enjoy this and other Chanin Pinots. Very impressive imho.

May 2, 2020 - Prior bottle was only six months ago, but given how well the last bottle showed, felt it was worthwhile and was well rewarded. Nose continues to show blackberry, black cherry and mineral notes. Medium bodied and the flavor profile was essentially the same with a mix of black cherry and blackberry, followed by tart black cherry and minerals behind and through the finish. The mid-body felt a bit more expressive and defined with the combination of rounded black cherry and more acidity-driven blackberry again being prominent. These fruit notes, along with the balanced acidity and fine grained tannins on the back create a wine of balance and depth. Should continue to drink at this level for several more years and I will save my final bottle (unless I find more!) for Q2 2021 and potentially for June 2021.

November 2, 2019 - Prior bottle was 10 months ago and my notes were very consistent; this wine remains in a nice spot. Nose was virtually identical: cool black cherry and brighter blackberry, mixed with mineral notes. Medium bodied with the same mixture of blackberry and black cherry upfront and through the middle. What makes this interesting is the mix of brighter, more acidity-driven blackfruit notes and the deeper, darker blackfruit notes through the middle. As with the prior bottle, this allows the wine to feel open and expressive, but with good contrast and backbone. Finishes with tart blackberry, acidity and mineral qualities. Feels like this is peak or very close to it, but in a fashion that it should be able to hold this level for at least another couple of years. Next bottle for me in March 2020.
