March 20, 2016 - 85-87: served too cold to start, got a little more balance and nuance as it warmed (slightly).

This wine is sharp, with loads of gooseberry and grass. It's all Marlborough, all the time, although a little goes a long way. Still, a very, very good value at the price point.

September 16, 2015 - Two reviewers already gave this wine 86 and 70 points respectively, so I'll throw in the deciding vote: 86 points. It's a medium-bodied bundle of tangerine, grapefruit and goosberry fruits with a little Sancerre-like herbaciousness. Great value at $8 at Trader Joe's.

September 3, 2015 - This one is relatively atypical from the average Kiwi Sauvignon mostly because these guys are trying to tame the often savage, rustic, herbaceous acidity of this varietal, and let some of the terroir shine through. Not exactly sure if they totally succeeded. First off, there is no question this is Kiwi. Though somewhat mild by NZ standards some grassy gooseberry is very evident on the nose and palate. There is a nice weighty mouth feel from properly ripened grapes. Rather smooth and approachable acid. Some minerality on the finish.

March 30, 2015 - This wine is lacking everything Marlborough is famous for (perfect acid balance, lush fruit and complexity). A very dilute wine that is not commercially acceptable; shy nose and simple. Avoid! Update-This wine comes out with air and improves to maybe 75 points. This wine reflects the 2014 vintage for NZ- lighter style. Surely, it's no 86 point wine.
