  November 2, 2012 - S&E Wine Club Blind Tasting (Great Falls, VA): tasted blind; had been decanted 3 hours. chalky nose and palate. tannins a bit coarse. deep and rich fruit with chalk coating the edges of the tongue. medium finish.

  November 2, 2012 - S&E Wine Club - Mixed vertical and horizontal tasting: A hint of clean chalk but amazingly sweet - classic cassis nose for a cab. Disappointing for me for an Alto Cab - just too sweet - I don't know why?

  April 21, 2012 - Blind home wine tasting with MOT Scoring sheet - Zins with Cab & Tempranillo: Clean chalk dust nose although light brown but clearly smooth. Moderately long finish with solid tannins and a very slight hint of acid overtaking the old light fruit.

  October 15, 2011 - This is smooth and moderately bodied. I decanted for 4 hours. Some would say this is at its absolute peak and just silky. A moderately long finish with light chalk terroir on the nose and mellowed fruits. I almost feel unfair only giving it a 94 - just the right time to open and I have 2 left.
