October 14, 2015 - Cantina Andrian 2014 Gewürztraminer (SRP $22): Founded in 1893, Cantina Andrian is the oldest cooperative in Italy’s Alto Adige. Grown within the cool, high-altitude vineyards that define the region, this wine is fresh, aromatic, and unmistakably Gewürztraminer. It shows lovely notes of lychee fruit, spice, a pretty floral character, and bitter citrus peel flavors with an expansive honeyed texture that’s balanced with just enough acidity. The wine finishes up nicely with a long, spicy finish. Delicious and a wonderful food wine. Region: Alto Adige, Italy. Other info: ABV 14%, stainless, matured on fine yeast for 6 months, cork enclosure.
