May 9, 2015 - WSET Level 4 Course - WSET School; 9/6/2014-5/23/2015 (WSET School, Bermondsey): Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Medium ruby colour.
Nose: The nose is Clean and Youthful, showing Medium(+) intensity primary aromas of black plum, red cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, black pepper.
Palate: The wine is Dry in the mouth with a Medium level of acidity. It has Medium Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (14.00%). It has Medium body and Medium intensity primary flavours of redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, black plum, black pepper. The finish is Medium. It has ripe fruit character
Overall: Good balance between acid, tannin and alcohol, all well integrated. Modest concentration and lacks a bit on the finish. Lacks complexity. Good typicity for a high volume commercial wine
Conclusion: It is a Good quality wine. Drink Now; not suitable for Ageing or Further Ageing Doesn't have the structure or concentration to age beyond 8 - 12 months; Medium priced (£7.49)

May 1, 2015 - Very ordinary. The nose promised jammy red fruit, but it just lacks so much: balance, structure, fruit and a finish. It has some body but has no real substance and it has a slight burn on the finish. 79 points.
