  February 27, 2019 - Medium garnet with a black cherry tea nose. Dry chewy tannins, restrained fruit, dusty pomegranates. Night one a little primary and needs some time to open. Open a couple of nights and coming around, tannins are tight with some bold tobacco and earthy notes, not quite ripe Himalayan blackberries and cane pith tannins.

  January 29, 2019 - Medium garnet with a bricking rim. Light nose of pie cherries. Dry, lightly tart with integrated chewy tannins, restrained with medium body and fruit. Drinking well with an hour open time.

  January 29, 2019 - Hasn't gone in a great direction. Clear rim, color fading, with a simple nose of citrus peel, herbs, and tar. Palate has snappy acidity and a bit of fine grippy tannin that smooths out with air. Fairly empty midpalate and a dry finish. Not bad for a 20 dollar quaff but nothing to write home about and age hasn't helped one way or the other.

  October 8, 2017 - Was hoping for a little more from this Barbaresco. While I could identify some of the Nebbiolo characteristics and fruit, it was far from integrated. It is still relatively tannic, so will mellow a bit in 4-5 more years, I just doubt the wine will improve any with age. At $21 I'm not bummed out, but I wouldn't serve this to guests.
