Still fresh & tannic this had classic flavours of plums and leather. There is a little silk and richness coming through but doesn’t overdo it, so it doesn’t really develop. Still drinkable but for a Pomerol it was bit pinched and lightweight. CHP 86 pts

April 19, 2022 - Sight: medium ruby with clear garnet color

Nose: lots of cherry and spice and the spices very aromatic! I get cinnamon from the French oak. So much red fruit here strawberry, Red current, plum adding some tartness. I also don’t agree with hotdogs or any meatyness as someone said but there is a Smokey undertone perceivable as leather.

Palate: honestly in a blind comes off as tart red fruit with medium plus acid and really doesn’t drink to well…. I mean the tannins are clearly Nenin they are fine and Merlot with a good finish of earth and lots of spice throughout.

Overall: blinded next to a Lafond Rochet 2015 and man it made this wine look weak…. I love Lafond but funny people are saying that wine is shutting down when I think this wine is completely shut down. The nose is hardly giving way to much and the palate drinks like a Sangiovese it’s acidic (smooth) but yeah just isn’t performing great clearly 2014 isn’t doing well atm the rain in September has lowered this wines concentration and the vintage compared to the 10/12 is noticeable I’ll pass on this next time I see it.

April 19, 2022 - This wine was ruby with hints of garnet. I got tart cherries and raspberries. Earthy and leathery with decent acidity. Not overtly concentrated but still approachable.

February 4, 2022 - Deep garnet color. Fresh Blackberries, hotdog, cedar notes, vegetation, dried leaves. Medium body. Fruit is consistent with the nose. Clean taste overall finishing medium with a woody note.

July 29, 2021 - Medium garnet hue with high saturation. Aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, licorice, pepper, raspberry, and rubber. Medium body, medium-minus tannins, and medium-plus acidity. Subtle fruity flavors, though not as arousing as the nose. Very smooth texture and clean, velvety finish. 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
