August 4, 2022 - This was a good bottle! Very charming and well rounded and with lots of chocolate and darker berries. Drink now or within next 5 years or so.

July 29, 2022 - Belonging to the Mitjavile stable, this wine was known as “Château Cadet” a few years ago. Caroline & Louis Mitjavile renamed it since “Cadet” was a too common name. It's a blend with a majority of Merlot and a small complement of Cabernet Franc, with 13.5% alcohol. It was aged for nearly two years in new Radoux brand barrels, the same cooperage as at Tertre Rotebœuf. A good hour of aeration in the carafe allows the nose to reveal expressive and madly classy scents of almost decadent fresh fruits in the Mitjavile way, leather, some spring flowers (violets & roses) as well as precious wood and a hint of vanilla both betraying a strong oak aging. The palate, medium-bodied and really juicy, unexpectedly deals in finesse. The structure of ripe fruits is soothed by a good acidity. The little grip of firm tannins we felt three years ago has disappeared and leaves the door open for a silky mouthfeel. The Mitjaviles perform during complicated years! This is so attractive right now and I think it will last a few more years.

February 20, 2022 - Still under an influence of new oak, but good fruit too.
