March 4, 2019 - Decanted and consumed over three hours. Bold and expressive. Just a touch too much wood for my palate.

June 26, 2018 - Lots of black fruit (blackberry, black currant) and black pepper on the nose. Medium acid, not much oak, medium tannins, more back fruit and pepper on the palate. Super long finish! Beautiful fruit forward California Syrah. Drinking well now, wouldn’t hold for more than another year or two.

April 8, 2018 - Really lovely Syrah. The nose is meaty and leathery yet it retains a sense of elegance with black raspberries, judicious oak, and a whiff of chamomile. It starts off linear and deceptively rich in the mouth, then gains depth and breadth, with blue and purple fruit flavors that expand in the mouth amid dynamic complexity and a tasty hard candy edge. Delicious.

August 5, 2017 - Luscious! A bit austere upon opening but unfolds nicely with a bit of rusticity.

March 26, 2017 - Decanted for 5.5 hours then consumed over the next 4.5 hours. Raspberry, pomegranate, iron, blood, thyme, black pepper. Medium-plus body and acidity. Medium-minus tannins. Medium finish. Not my preferred style of Syrah, but it grew on me as time went on. It's drinking well right now with a decent decant but I'd give it until at least 2020 before there's any fear of it going downhill.
