March 18, 2024 - Difficult to discribe. Far too early to have opened, but great promise indicated. Decanted and left two hours; probably required eight.

Tense, strained, refined tannins. A dark scent of molasses and acidity evoked by mince tarts comes to mind; perhaps the floureryness of butterscotch biscuits.

Tight, terse, taunt acidity - all in balance.

Impatient. I'll leave the next bottle at least another five/six years. Lacking in expected depth at this age, although ably indicated.

December 1, 2021 - Oenocosmos tasting (Athens Hill): This is pure Tannat. The wine shows impressive breadth, straightforward, very ripe black fruit, earthy, again irony and bloody, sweet oak, vanilla, balanced oak treatment despite its heavy use. The wine shows medium body, elegant (all things considered), tight tannins, more irony in the palate, medium finish

March 29, 2018 - Sampling the December 8, 2017 new releases (små partier) from Systembolaget (Systembolaget, Stockholm): Good fruit but the grip is almost insufferable at this stage. Much better than the 2006 but needs cellar time. (84-86)
