March 17, 2023 - A lovely wine, that had hit its drinking peak and is now slowly but serenely sliding down the other side.

N: Far more evolved than the palate. Barnyard funk and leaf mulch intermingled with allspice and liquorice and some black fruits.
P: More fruit intensity, black cherry, plums, blackberries and blackcurrant pastille. And a lovely menthol lift. But these still plays second fiddle to the sunset tertiary flavours slowly encroaching. Fading Asian spices left in the jar too long, dried herbs and cigar box and wood smoke on the end palate.

This is in an amazingly good place considering it’s age. It’s in its slightly faded matinee idol stage, but it still pulls up a seat, and it’s wonderful company.

March 25, 2013 - My #2, group's 8 out of 9. Still lots of fruit, a bit tart at first but balanced out.

April 18, 2005 - Tatsted at Tapestry Cellar Door: Made from 30 year old vines in the oldest part of the vineyard the grapes that make this Shiraz are hand picked. Having spent 18 months in new American oak and then 6 months in old French oak this deep red/purple shiraz has real notes of oak and plum. Very rich and full. Good structure. You can taste pepper and a good amount of tannin. Would age well for 12 - 15 years. Very good indeed.
