Community Tasting Notes 1

July 29, 2015 - I often walk past this brand thinking is not a serious offering. Seems to be my loss. This very fairly priced Pinot Noir is not going to blow you away with concentrated layers of flavor, but it is a very solid, fruit forward red wine. The color is dark for a Pinot. The nose has some barnyard in front of some prune and mullberry aromas. Pretty big viscosity. Sharp raspberry, cherry and prune fruit. More vanilla than you would expect, probably from an oak treatment that did not come from barrels. Adequate, but not overpowering acidity = ready to drink now. By the finish, I taste some residual sugar, which I don't think they need to promote this wine, but it is what it is.
