Community Tasting Notes 5

March 8, 2023 - Pop and pour. Almost 5 years since my last btl. Lovely nose of dried strawberry, soft hay, medicinal herbs, and a hint of iodine. On the palate: lovely acidity, tangy red fruit, good density, tomato, herbs, good length. Last btl, but also the best one so far.

April 9, 2018 - Best bottle so far. Notes from Day 2 open. Beautiful dark cherry, a touch of dark herb, a hint of coffee. On the palate, more dark cherry, a touch of herbs, good acidity. Soft finish, and paired well with pasta.

September 26, 2017 - Much better than my previous bottle (which showed rather bretty). Savory nose with some capers and wild blackberry and herbs. On the palate, very juicy with loads of dark fruit and medicinal herbs. Soft finish.

February 11, 2017 - This bottle was pretty bretty to start, and remained mildly that way after even a day open (unrefrigerated overnight). Behind the funk there is nice plummy dark fruit, and some dark chocolate followed by some herbal notes. On the palate, this is shows very juicy acidity, and this is fairly full-bodied. Seems slightly hot on the finish.

September 22, 2016 - Woah. Knew this would probably be good but it still surprised me. Explosive aromas, quite full on cassis and mulberry, dark chocolate and cloves, with a faint herbal and savoury element too.
Satin texture on the palate, just crystal clean with bright juicy flavours of raspberry, briar, plum jam and with very integrated acidity. Evolving and bright finish. This was decanted for an hour and shed a bit of tartrate deposit. Really good wine.
