September 9, 2013 - Light garnet in color with a faint brick edge. Nose of stewed cherries, tobacco and menthol. Tastes of smokey stewed cherries, cigar box, and hint of earth. Light on fruit, but at nearly 30 years holding up wonderfully. Very drinkable now and worked well with lamb.

November 1, 1989 - With MPL at lunch at Silk's in SF. Fairly dark color. Nose is ripe, weedy. One the palate, relatively light-bodied. Oaky. Very ripe. Slightly bitter finish. Lean, elegant style. 5-9-14-6: 84/100.
