June 6, 2021 - Deep gold amber. On the nose, grapefruit marmalade, nuts, lemon and its rind. Very pure fruit straight down the middle of the palate with a hint of salinity, some oxidation and nuttiness, high acids, lovely clarity, long ringing finish. 13.5 % alcohol. [Drank at our anniversary dinner at Daniel.]

January 20, 2018 - Excellent wine. A great nose of petrol, lime, lemon and floral notes. On the palate this was medium plus bodied, well balanced (the acidity was just right with the expressive fruit) and clean. A pleasure to drink!

May 2, 2015 - Grapefrukt, sitron, hvit pepper, hint av vanilje. God lengde og fylde. Litt mye syre i forhold til frukt. Mangler litt på kompleksitet. Frisk.

(Hugel Riesling Jubilee) Fresh nose with a touch of petrol; great mineral, tart orange, lime and almond palate with depth; medium-plus finish

(Hugel et Fils Riesling Jubilee) Hugel means “hill” in the Alsatian dialect, and the Jubilee bottling comes from one of the best hills around—the grand cru Schoenenbourg vineyard. This wine is lean, intense, and amazingly youthful, with peach and lemon-curd flavors against a backdrop of firm, stony minerality: a traditional take on Alsatian Riesling for those who prefer austerity and elegance over flash and volume. A bit one-dimensional now, it has everything it needs for future development. Give it a few years, then try it with smoked trout. Winery Spotlight: Domaine Marcel Deiss

(HUGEL RIESLING JUBILEE) #4; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-straw, golden; NOSE-nice mineral, soapy, very spritzy, apple, hint of fresh pear; TASTE-classic Petrol & Red Delicious apple, really nice hints of fig on mid-palate, good acidity, nice wine, but a little boring, very simple wine; WS-93; GV-87
