Community Tasting Notes 7

August 30, 2021 - Great wine, still going strong. Has a few more years left till secondary flavor development. Little bit of acid left, strong fruit and oak. No vibrancy lost yet but getting ready to wind down. Drink now not going to get any better. My tasting note is minimal because I over enjoyed the wine :)!

April 25, 2020 - black cherry, chassis, blackberry, grass on the front pallet, a touch of acidity still. tannins are ripe. slight oak, with a refreshing crisp cold climate, granite, grass on the nose.

Drinking well now, or wait 2 to 3 more years to drop that last but of acid.

Garnet in colour, medium legs, light sediment.

July 1, 2018 - Sure, the oak is prominent: but I’ve always enjoyed associations with the forest, and this immediately recalls pencil shavings, graphite, linseed oil, spice cabinet, vanilla, freshly ground coffee, and old red-cedar furniture. Pleasantly smoky but not acrid, with an undercurrent of lilacs and lilies. Taut fruits reveal themselves in the form of blackcurrant, blackberry, redcurrant, and red bell peppers, a rather classic Cab profile if ever there was one, although this is rapidly morphing into rich tobacco leaf territory. Finish seems largely roasted on first impression (more coffee ... geez, it’s like I’m at work), but loops back to black wine gums minutes later, and I let out a whoop for Canadian Cab. I wasn’t expecting a donnybrook and I got one. Pitter patter.
