Community Tasting Notes 5

March 27, 2018 - Light yellow, smells like citrus fruit with some petrol. Nice acidity, citrus, orange, complex spices, pepper, butter. Long aftertaste. Very nice wine. Had it with pinnekjøtt (dried, salted lamb rack). Good combination.

May 25, 2017 - Selección de viñas viejas de 60 años de media. Un poco más de azucar que el riesling 2013 , más cálido que el 2008. Se nota la diferencia de clima entre los ambos catados. Muy acido, largo, ancho.

February 4, 2017 - The Great Estates of Alsace (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Lime curd, quite floral top notes as well. Hmm. Touches of honey. Juicy and zesty on the palate with lime less delineated in a melange of citrus backed by honey and spice. Pleasant

June 29, 2016 - I clean expressive wine with citrus, pepper and minerals. Good entry level Riesling. Good with light fish dishes. Recommended.

October 5, 2015 - Terroir revolution at Trimbach - and the just released Clos Ste Hune 2008 (Maison Trimbach): Made from old vine selections from the Trotaker and Muhlforst vineyards (candidates for being premier crus). Better than 2009, which I found a bit heavy with noticeable residual sugar. This has fine dry extract, and richness - but a very dry expression. White stone fruit aspects with some floral, too. 13% It is friendly in its full bodied richness nonetheless and owner Jean Trimbach suggested 2012 as a "great vintage for beginners".
