July 25, 2017 - Opened the Columbia Valley and Snipes Mountain bottles at the same time. Nice differentiation between the bottles. The Columbia Valley bottle shows darker fruit (plum, blackberry), menthol, forest floor, and a touch of barnyard and earth on the nose. The Snipes Mountain bottle shows cherry, strawberry, earth, a little new leather, and over time a hint of caramel. Both are a bit fumey. The Columbia Valley bottle shows blackberry, herbs, spice, earth, and cranberry on the palate. Snipes Mtn shows strawberry and blackberry, licorice, herbs, and spice on the palate. Both show a little spicy heat. Both have decent acidity, fine tannins, medium length finishes. Overall, these were good wines, though the alcohol poked through a little too much for me. I suspect that less alcohol sensitive drinkers would enjoy these quite a bit.
