April 18, 2019 - Chablis and Champagne Weekend; 4/17/2019-4/21/2019 (Au bon Manger, Ingo's castle, Rocaille, Le Pot d'Etain): Blind, too ostensible strawberry and raspberry. Missing the acidity Backbone to give the length. But easy too drink. 88

April 25, 2016 - Bubbles at Webster's (Chicago, IL): 100% 2012, 50% pinot noir, 20% meunier, 30% chardonnay. Disgorged March 2015. This has a really, really funky nose, with some weird sweat note (or funk of some other sort) that doesn't quite really blow away. The palate's not too complex -- there's good minerality and a fair bit of tart red fruits here. The thing that juts out the most here for me is the acidity... this is like swishing razor blades in your mouth. The finish here is a bit terse, and you're left with naught but the sour skins of cranberries. As a little bit of editorializing on the side: the more I drink these low-dosage wines, the more I dislike them. They lack the heft on the palate that I want from a wine -- let's see some gravitas. Give us malo, give us dosage!

December 17, 2015 - Disgorged 3/2015. Extra Brut Rosé, 50% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier, and 30% Chardonnay. Raised in tank and barrel with reserve wine from 2010 blended in. Inaugural release. I like this, but it's a little tutti fruity and bright. R says that there isn't a lot of material here. $60 seems high. 4S Vegas with R.
