January 15, 2016 - Review similar to most recent. An amazing bottle. In a beautiful place right now. Almost opera like.

March 18, 2015 - This wine is still drinking beautifully. Pleasing upon opening, with dark berry, and sundried cherry and tomato and also red clay earthy notes on the nose. Then after 10-15 minutes, it seemed to turn negatively toward an overly oxidative place. Then after half an hour, this wine deepened in intensity and complexity driving it toward balance with its fresh acidity yet delicately concentrated red berry core and earthy black and red tar and mineral backbone. The resolving/ resolved tannins still give it structure and length in the mouth. And the nose continues to impress and evolve. Dark leather, and olive and fruity tar and tree leaves. Raisins and tomatoes all just perfectly concentrated by the sun's rays. A juicy freshness permeates and makes this wine a star.

May 10, 2012 - Ruby with orange rim. Mushrooms, plum & oak on nose. Bone dry & very tannic, but low acidity & alcohol. On palate: plum, minerality, sweet spices.

April 6, 2012 - Nose much more muted than other tasters experienced. Even over 6 hours decanted, it did not offer up the classic "barolo nose". Still, nice flavors with subtle tannins, good integration of acidity.

March 21, 2011 - Fragrant, dark berry flavors with black pepper and earthy, forest-floor notes. Only a faint memory of silky tannins. It diddn't have the depth of character I expect from barolo, but it was still delicious.
