October 14, 2020 - Some ways past its peak. Not very complex. Enjoyable, but not so exciting. Provenance unknown.

March 10, 2019 - From a jeroboam it was surprisingly fresh, very bubbly, airy, I would even say that it could have been more concentrated. The acidity was still high and there were lot of green notes to it. Beautiful bottle overall.

February 10, 2019 - If you've been following my drinking journey over the past couple of years, you could've noticed that Henriot is by far one of my favorite Champagne houses. Two reasons - they make damn good Champagne and they're much lighter on the wallet than the big boys of Krug, Dom P, Jacquesson, etc. Founded in 1808, Henriot is one of those rare, independent Champagne houses that has been owned and managed by an unbroken line of the same family since its inception. I respect that, family tradition, ya know.

Deep golden in the glass, already showing why this is 23 years strong. Tertiary aromas have taken over a good deal - notes of dried banana, cereal, roasted hazelnuts, toffee followed by whiffs of burnt toast and a lime juice. When you start drinking this, it's easy to finish it within 20 minutes. Although fully developed, the mousse is so delicate and so well-integrated with the acidity, it's ridiculous not to slurp this up with a straw. Medium finish. Paired well with orange sunsets and the best of people.

December 25, 2018 - Joy to the world! This baby sings to christmas! Golden color with fine crisp mousse, tiny bubbles in a fine stream. Amazing nose of roasted chestnuts, honey, apricot and baked lemon. And what a wine! Full bodied, tons of concentration, deep fruit, sparkling minerality and a massive backbone of acidity. Very complex, very long, very well put together. Had to turn the Xmas music off so I could take it all in. Peak champagne at the very top of its trajectory. Pure and overwhelming joy to drink! Happy Christmas!

December 7, 2017 - Good tension and energy. Medium color. Bready, yeasty with good lemon and yellow fruit. Some toast on the palate. Drinks young but with good nuance. Very nice tonight.
