Community Tasting Notes 150

April 20, 2024 - Marzipan, marzipan and more marzipan, followed by passion fruit and candied orange peels on the nose. The palate had honeycombs, citrus and the candied oranges made an encore. There is a waxines to the wine that gives it a very long finish.

My only two complaints are I was not paring the wine with blue cheese, and we only had a half bottle. This is drinking great and looking forward to seeing how it develops.

April 19, 2024 - Tropical fruits, flowers, oranges, and botrytis on the nose. This was really balanced on the palate with that Climens acidity coming out more over time. Candied bitter orange peels on the finish really tied up this package well. (From .375)

February 25, 2024 - Deep golden, amber colour with a very slight bricking. Still showing quite young despite being 19 years old.

On the nose, strong hints of honey, caramel, and apricots, and finishes with a slight floral note. I can also smell the minerality. This is quite complex.

On the palate, this is dense, thick, and fully coats the mouth. The concentrated honey, toffee, creme brulee sweetness is somewhat balanced by the orange peel, citrusy acidity. There is some heat on the finish, but overall, it is quite long and elegant.

For me, I would prefer a bit more acidity to further balance out the sweetness.

January 26, 2024 - Similar notes to last bottle on 8/14/15 but less tension and everything more folded in. Outstanding. 93+ points.

January 6, 2024 - A little musty on opening. Breathed up to better showing. Intense marmalade, restrained botrytis. Peaked in the half?
