April 28, 2024 - Pretty much similar to my last note. It is a nice wine, perhaps not my preferred style but it did very well with steak.

March 15, 2024 - I got some good news and wanted to open something special. Well, this may be special, but it sure isn't right now. Really closed in on itself. While not a heavy wine, there is a real sense of density. Prior experience makes me think it will be excellent, but really requires 3-5 more years.

January 21, 2024 - Black cherry, blackberry and even a touch of plum on the nose as well as earth, spices, minerals and light leather notes. Medium bodied (13% ABV) with rounded and open black cherry upfront. Adds depth through the middle with darker black cherry, some plum towards the back and touch of brighter blackberry and some tart black cherry for contrast. These brighter notes impart a youthfulness to the middle and when coupled with the acidity through the finish, also contributes positively to structure. The mid-body fruit (especially the black cherry notes) has a lot of elegance, that when coupled with the density, gives a sense of silkiness and balance. Tannins on the backside seem very fine grained and in balance with the fruit (acidity seemed to play more of structural role with the tannins in the background); lingering through the finish along with minerals and earth. Overall, though the wine showed quite well, probably a small step behind the 2014 (which was slightly surprising, given the vintages). Has a number of years in front of it but I might actually drink these over the next 5-6 years while the fruit is showing this well.

January 19, 2024 - Poured from 3L bottle, this was very tasty and bright, with lovely dark fruit. Drinking great!

August 23, 2023 - After having tasted 2015 twice 2013 will never reach that level, still monothome train of acid , smoke and light beverage , Still one to go.
