October 13, 2023 - Celebration for Oct babies: Guessed Vosne because of the overt five spice notes. A more powerful and masculine Burgundy that needs more time to integrate. Usually not a fan of blue fruit in Burgundies but this managed to pull it off well. A little international for sure, but felt this had a lot of potential to improve. On my to-try list for some time so glad that a friend brought this.

August 10, 2021 - Pnp, ruby in color, a surge of mixed berries aroma with oak in parallel. Plenty of red and dark fruits on palate with ample acidity that coupled well with oak which tannin is rather mellow already. Sweet fruit in after taste, lovely sample and should age well.

August 23, 2020 - Understanding Corton with Jasper Morris MW (Zoom!): Rognet refers to cutting or pruning. The best of Meo's three Cortons, with vines from the 1920s. Dark colour, trademark high extraction, oaky style - needs time. Blackcurrant throat sweets. All destemmed. Quite a chew to this. Admirable, but I find this a bit NW in style.

July 1, 2016 - Friday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Anne Gros & Méo-Camuzet (Vosne-Romanée): Tasting at the domaine. Powerful black and red fruit array with dense meatiness and concentration. Firm but also already balanced. Tasty already, but a cellarworthy that will reward a decade of rest. 92-94 point potential. I greatly prefer this over the Corton Perrieres tasted immediately prior.

March 23, 2016 - DIVA Burgundy Tasting (Maison Champy - Beaune): Tasting, brief note. Enticing array of red, black and blue fruit aromas with baking spice. Lots of cherry flavors with elegant tannins, exciting textures. and moderate concentration. Give this until at least 2020 before even thinking about it, 2025 even better.
