October 17, 2021 - Initially pop and pour, but there was so much sediment I had to decant this. On the nose: a bit tired, but classic CdP; entirely tertiary with garrigue, dried lavender and dried raspberry. On the palate: a touch flat, with more dried fruit and herbs. Completely attenuated tannin.

May 28, 2021 - Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&R's): Double blind. Older, showing a slight brownish color. Tea and cherry notes with white currant elements later on. More fruit comes forward as this sits, turning towards red berry. Adds notes of earth and meaty bacon tones. Finishes with good length. Guessed old Cote Rotie. 90-91 pts. (J&J)

October 20, 2015 - Sweet fruit on the nose with light licorice, mocha, toffee and toasty notes on the back. Red raspberry and dried cherries on the palate with dark earth and toasty notes.

August 11, 2012 - Didn't take a formal note, but this was a hugely enjoyable fully mature CdP with lots of stink and ash. Did fall off after a while in glass so do not decant, pop and pour and enjoy quickly.

August 11, 2012 - Saturday Night Tasting: Popped and poured, followed for approximately 45 minutes. Deep garnet in the glass with a moderate orange brick at the rim. On the nose, notes of red fruits, dried cherry, dried herbs, florals, earth, leather, iron and undergrowth, also a note that is a touch medicinal. On the palate, dried fruits, plum, herbs, earth with a light ashiness on the moderate length finish. Still a bit of tannic grip on the background, and sufficient acid to balance the sweet fruit. By the end of the 45 minutes, this was starting to fall off a bit in the glass.
