May 11, 2013 - surprise of the night or perhaps we needed some education. lovely expression of pinot and very ready. Unique, not burgundian, but very elegant at this stage.

July 30, 2011 - Older Oregon Pinots (Wildwood, Portland OR): nose: gorgeously perfumed nose filled with layers of spices, red fruits, red cherries, and a whole lot of rose petals. Very well balanced with a lot of poise and elegance on the nose

taste: refined and demure medium body with medium+ acidity along with pretty tones of rose petals, spice tones, red fruits, red cherries and all sorts of red florals as well. Wonderful depth with the tones just gliding across the palate

overall: What a wonderful wine. This was everything that you want from an aged pinot noir with poise, balanced and all sorts of perfumed tones that just beguile you. This was a truly wonderful wine and one that really shows off what OR pinot can do with age. This bad boy didn't fade at all during the evening and held up well over the course of 3 hours

July 30, 2011 - Old Oregon Pinot Noir - Wine Berserker off-line (Wildwood restaurant - Portland, OR): Young, fresh red fruit nose, aromas of strawberries and cherries with a citrus edge, like maybe a dusting of lemon zest, just a bit of earth as well. Right off the bat the feel on the palate is velvety and soft. It starts off with ripe grapefruit leading into ripe strawberry, then into dark earth and forest floor, finally ending with red fruit and chalky mineral. Exuberant palate with balanced structure. This wine is showing it's age in all of the right places. Right in that perfect place where youthful and aged flavors meet. Long, complex, powerful, delicious. My WOTN.

December 5, 2010 - 2009 Beaujolais Tasting (W/ Old Musar and more) (Portland, ME): Color: Brickish garnet

Smell: Forest floor, earth, mushrooms, red fruits

Taste: Red fruits, cherry, strawberry, cranberry.

Overall: Outstanding!!! Elegant, light, and weightless on the palate. This is exactly what I look for in a wine and it was really exciting to see this doing so well. Consumed within 15 minutes of opening, decanted for sediment.

July 5, 2010 - This wine exhibits the perfect expression of forest floor: a combination of mushrooms and dried leaves. Age has stolen any remnant of fruit or tannin. The acid is pronounced and the color retains some amber among maroon tones. Note: the cork was intact but wet with no signs of seepage.
