November 6, 2021 - similar to my note of 2020 - dark red, brick rim - nose has developed into more open aromas of black fruit and moderate oak - abundant black fruit in the mouth with good acid balance and mature but still prominent tannins - medium long 10-15 sec finish - this wine is very drinkable and enjoyable now, but will last many more years

November 29, 2020 - dark red, brick rim - closed nose even after 2 hrs - abundant black fruit in the mouth with good acid balance and mature tannins - medium long 10-15 sec finish - this wine is very drinkable and enjoyable now, but will last many more years - I'd like to see whether it will develop more complexity and a better nose over time, though I'm not convinced it will

June 26, 2015 - Still needing air to open up, this wine has spice, leather, plum, wet earth, and black fruit on the nose. Palate is earthy and balanced with enough acidity to match up to full-flavored foods. Finish is long. Delicious wine.

93 Point Wines Are They Worth It?, Episode #103, 10/9/2006 (link) 93 points

(NEO DANIEL) #1; COLOR-very dark; NOSE-new world, obvious Hi-C fruit puch, dark black currant, very jammy; TASTE-extremely big, tight, closed, monster of a wine; complex new world wine meets old world; like a top notch Bordeaux; big luscious new world fruit, but not one dimensional, enormous structure on mid-palate, phenomanl finish, well-balanced; I would wait 5 years, but be a dominant wine worth $100 ; RP-93; GV-93
