April 5, 2024 - Decanters for 90 mins after some aerating. Bonded quite well with a Cantonese dinner of Peking duck and the like. Slight acidity still showing. Was hoping for more roundness and fruit.

March 16, 2024 - Not surprisingly, best wine in a flight of 2000, 2005, 2012 and 2019 Clinet. Very early maturity, with the lovely fruit complemented with background earthy notes. Drink now and over the next ten years with short decant.

January 2, 2024 - Still quite tannic and I didn't find it very open after 4 hour decant.

November 16, 2023 - Absolutely delicious now. Coravin'd a bit and after 15 minutes in the glass, the dark seriously red corps emerged: as Jancis correctly noted, this has some Pessac elements that one could mistake since it is not merlot driven. But such a good exemplar of why Bordeaux is so delicious and a great food wine. Major dark cherry/currant and forest floor notes, aged wood, plenty of dry leaves and altogether a nice construction. Not complex though. Drink now.

    October 5, 2023 - Brief tasting notes

2nd wine of the night behind the Spottswoode 2002. This is in a really good spot right now, called it blind as well. truffle, plum, cherry, dusty earth, chocolate all beautifully weaved together, fine tannins, incredible length. 97++

(Chateau Clinet Pomerol) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-beautiful; gorgeous fresh & bright red fruits (raspberry, cherry); really enjoying the violet & rose petal on the back-end; TASTE-great back-end structure; you feel the tannins, but not bitter at all -- very polished tannins; massive mouthfeel; dark shaved chocolate on the finish; red fruits, but also a blueberry component; some lavender; pencil shavings and black tea on the finish; exceptional; this shows the polish and elegance of classic Bordeaux; extremely age worthy; WS-99; GV-95
