August 9, 2019 - I tried this last October and was pleased with how well it had stood up the passage of time. This was my last bottle and I remain pleased.Translucent cherry red in color. Pleasant cherry nose. Palate shows raspberry, cherry, dusty notes, bit of spice. Elegant, if fading. The acidity is starting to be a bit out of balance, smooth tannins. Moderate finish of red fruits. Very nice wine 15 years on.

October 28, 2018 - A lovely zinfandel just starting a graceful decline. Still aromatic with bright cherries. The fruit is still vibrant and clear, just the slightest hint of fading. Raspberries and black cherry fruit, fully resolved tannins, nice acidity, good balance . Finishes with a moderately long raspberry and brown sugar element. This was probably bolder a few years ago, but there is something pleasant about how graceful and elegant it has become. If you have any I'd drink them over the next couple of years.

May 18, 2013 - Popped and poured with an impromptu party of friends who stopped and made home made pizza with us.
Nice wine that was ready to drink upon opening and didn't last long.
    Would buy again.

November 1, 2012 - Noticeably more advanced than the last bottle. Nice restrained zin, fruit veers towards red side for a zin. Not sure if this is an indication to drink up or if the storage was not the best before I grabbed these. A nice bottle, but didn't live up to the more robust Bedrock OV we drank after.

(RAVENSWOOD OLD HILL ZINFANDEL) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very Cotton Candy, but polished; but not fake; TASTE-massive wine; big tannins; well structured; a Monster, explosive, big wine for a big night (a Smith & Wolensky steak w/ mashed potatoes); tremendous effort; it contains its' fruit within it's structure & tannins; it's got great structure, polish & beautiful fruit; an absolute "darling" of a wine; ST-92/95; GV-92+
