June 11, 2016 - Last of my bottles and drinking at peak. Layers of red and dark fruit, green forestal/herbal notes, tree bark, and more savoury earthy and leathery elements all come together very seamlessly with a beautiful, perfumed fragrance and a delicate, graceful palate presence. The structure here seems fully integrated, and I can't imagine this getting any better. Fantastic.

January 20, 2016 - Lovely. On the lighter side. Leafy, herbal notes. Fruit appears as the wine adds weight with air. Very elegant.

August 27, 2015 - Cabernet dinner (Olea, New Haven): Well then. This stole the show and was one of the group's consensus top 2 wines of the night, in a flight alongside an older Palmer, BV, and a 97 Mouton. Just a spectacular bottle that was firing on all cylinders. Layers of bright red and dark fruit, that vivid green, forestal Cab Franc character, more exotic and flamboyant herbal and floral notes, all coming together with a seamlessness and sense of finesse on the palate that's hard to put into words. Stunning wine.

March 25, 2014 - Vatan and Clos Rougeard Dinner (Ripple DC): On opening this still show some nice primary fruit on the nose but later in the evening notes of brine, cocoa and by the end of the evening even tertiary notes of white flower came through. The palate was very much excellent Cabernet Franc with darker berries mingling with a roasted vegetable note. The finish was stunning with very nice tilled soil note. Many rated this as their WOTN

December 13, 2013 - Drinks at La Sirene (NYC): Nothing new to add to my prior impressions of this. It's drinking beautifully and coming across fully mature with the tannins fully resolved, a gentle, polished texture, and layers of red fruits and greener herbal/forestal elements accented by developed leathery and other savoury notes.
