Community Tasting Notes 3

    January 10, 2021 - .... hmmmm.

The wine is bright, more cherry than black fruit and a tremendous amount of acidity. 12 years in this wine is still laden with acidity !

You have to appreciate the effort but it's just ok. Definetly not a 92

March 18, 2018 - This definitely required some patience, the initial nose and flavor was tight and restricted.

Over the course of the first two hours it developed into an aromatic and somewhat mineral nose while the flavors were highly acidic and the Finish had a bracing acidity that worked well with dinner. Dinner was a smoked brisket which had a meaningful content of fat which was complimented by the wine.

After another 90 minutes, the nose matured to cherry and blueberry while retaining some acidity. Flavors are more mellow, some spiciness, a nice backbone of acidity, but it had smoothed out. Mid palate had my tongue tingling. You can taste the extraction and concentration of flavors with a fruit focused execution that makes this interesting to drink all on its own!

Very happy with this wine. Off the beaten path but worth the adventure of you are up for something a little different.

March 19, 2017 - An engagement of red fruit and a touch of match box. A medium finish and a forward middle palate. I see no reason to wait. Drink now - 2025.
