April 26, 2021 - Stunning Rioja! Decanted one hour but was ready for action immediately. Deep black cherry, minty soil, and cinnamon bark all evident on the nose. Red/black cherries wonderfully balanced with sun-warmed soil in the mouth. Linear and focused but also light on its feet. The medium finish lingered on the palate beautifully. Lovely combination of power and finesse. Excellent pairing with seared duck breast and a sour cherry reduction. Bravo!

September 12, 2020 - Decanted for over an hour and it made a difference. Nose of red cherry, milk chocolate which turned to dark cocoa powder over time, a healthy dose of cinnamon, and some brambly cough drop. Seemingly dumb at first but got more complex with air. Dusty red berries with a big dollop of minerally soil. Fruit and earth in equal measure. Beautiful pairing with seared duck breast and duck fat sauteed potatoes. Solid old-world Rioja. Drink now or over the next 2-3 years.

July 25, 2018 - Slightly separated opaque ruby color. Nose raspberries and red cherries with hint of cinnamon spice. Palate kirsch and cherries with some dill spice and vanilla, some chalky tannins on finish. Still seems young/in need of more bottle age, but nice depth and acidity, already intriguing and great QPR as direct import from K&L. 91 pts

February 21, 2017 - Deep dark ruby, some reduction, slight smoke. High tannin, low acid, integrated oak. Aromas of plum. Medium + finish, wine has some freshness to it.

December 16, 2016 - Terrific example of the style drinking well now and probably good for a couple more years
