Community Tasting Notes 5

September 4, 2010 - Decent, but nothing special white burgundy. Pale yellow lemon color. Medium intensity nose with notes of citrus, white peaches, vanilla/almonds. Medium body with decent, but not too crisp acidity, and medium length. Buttery mouthfeel with citrus and white peach.

May 1, 2010 - Pale yellow with rich fruit on the nose: melon and lychee and some toast as well. It had long restrained fruit on a nutty finish. Nice but have heard so much about the vintage I guess I came in with high expectations.

March 4, 2010 - First Class Flying (35,000 Feet Over The South China Seas): French. Good. Apple, peachy peach, oaky, all big fruit punch splash in front palate, then fades.

November 18, 2008 - Cathay 1st Class - on my birthday! (Seat 2K on CX255): Mineraly nose. Hints of orchard fruit, even a bit of cheese and butter. Palate is a little austere and tight but 'get' the terrior. Good lasting finish.

October 9, 2008 - Nose of vanilla, nice acidity with mineral character, velvety feel in moth, good after taste, overall a good wine indeed.

Burgundy-Report

(Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault Les Clous) Bouchard own 8.7 hectares in this vineyard - almost 50% of the appellation. The vines are set high on the hill, so this is often one of the very last vineyartds to be harvested. Nicely crisp and fresh aromatics that never really develop further while we’re together. The palate is still quite rich, but is mouth-filling in quite a mineral way - there’s a nice character to this wine.
