October 4, 2010 - The color is golden to orange. The aroma is a little oxidized but fruity with apricots and summer flowers. In the mouth you are met first by an intense, sweet tropical fruitiness that unfortunately dies away very quickly and is replaced by a bit bulky and heavy rubber-petroleum character mixed with crushed limestone. The fruit is now instead more towards unripe pears, but without any fresh acidity. The finish is short and lifeless. A bit of a dissapointment.

March 21, 2010 - Darker colour than expected. Golden. Not the monster I expected, but with a (for gewürztraminer) kind of balance. Both nose and palate is dominated by litchi and roses, with some citrus as well. Full bodied, rich but completely dry. Not showing the promised volcanic Rangen "terroir" yet. Decant for several hours or leave in the cellar for 10 years. A small amount was left i the glass for 3-4 hour and this last sip showed some of the greatness to come.

October 18, 2009 - Surprised to the upside. I am not normally a lover of Gewurtz, but this has good depth without being cloying or overly spicy. A fine foil for cheese. Age has been kind to the 04 ZH Rangen wines as their dry profiles have integrated nicely. (91)

January 18, 2009 - Deep golden color. Holding back at first, but really blossomed with cheese after being opened a few hours. Like eating rose petals. (93)

August 27, 2007 - Return to terroir - Biodynamic tasting event (Oslo): Complex and rich. Some sweetness on the palate and lots of alcohol (16%). Spices. Great wine, but preferred the Riesling Clos St. Urbain.
