December 10, 2023 - Eight years ago I opened a bottle of this wine, and it was brutally hot and undrinkable. Fast forward to this bottle, and it was rich, mature Gewurztraminer with no intrusion from the alcohol. Quite the turnaround, and one that was completely unexpected. Dark gold color, classic Gewurz aromas, and bit bit of a grilled/singed edge to the fruit from age. Added complexity, and was a fantastic match to our roasted pumpkin soup.

June 1, 2017 - Still very much alive but not super exiting, needed alot of air.

    November 17, 2016 - Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.

I have not assigned a number to this bottle because it was too inconsistent. Initially, it seemed like it was "over the hill" -- not totally, but certainly. After a few days on the counter top (where it was placed to be used to deglaze pans), I tried a sip before degalizing a pan and it seemed to be okay - not great, but okay. Regardless, I think that Kaerhoeg "hit the nail on the head" when s/he noted that the wine was more interesting than good. I have another -- will see.

December 29, 2015 - More interesting than good. Quite dark color, almost like apple juice. Lychee in the nose. Some oxidation. worked OK with blue cheese.

December 11, 2015 - Same thing as earlier bottle, over the hill, had to flush them. Pity, had expected more from this winery.
